Talk about Israel and Palestine.

British PM calls Gaza a prison

Obviously a true statement, but new from the British leaders, as far as I know:

David Cameron: Israeli blockade has turned Gaza Strip into a 'prison camp'

I was wondering, do you think the Egyptian blockade of Gaza might have something to do with this too?

Whether one agrees with our tactics or not you have to admit that rockets were flying our way. Egypt on the other hand,(which occupied the Gaza strip before us and saw no need to establish a palestinian state there) is closing off Gaza just as effectively in Rafiah without any clear justification. Why are they never censured for this while Israel is blamed every day?

Unfortunately th evacuous bollocks for which this PM is becoming recognised ellen

When he says the same thing in the US, in Israel, in the British Parliament, rather than ingratiating himself with Turkey, then we will know that it is more than hot air

Cameron has a lot of great policies. Sadly International affairs doesn't seem to be one of his strong points.

They are in kahoots with Israel: It is because of Israeli pressure and influence that the Egyptians are supporting the blockade and torture of these people, so what difference does it make mentioning Egypt or not?

There's no escaping Israel is responsible for one of the worst kind of brutality and torture of modern times. I just find it disgusting how, even now, after all that has passed, the world only half heartedly opposes these acts of terrorism.

It paints a dark picture of humanity.

And the response is collective punishment? Give me a break!

That is so not true, and you know that. There have been much much worst kinds in modern times I can asure you that, it's your obsession with Israel that make you say that. I don't say it's right, but all we have done was after getting burned before. they have and still do, smuggling weapons into Gaza and use that in many ways to hert our civilians. so we built walls, so we did a blockade. It's all means of defend, and yes, we have reasons to defend ourselfs. A non violent protest will be so much better for them but they still keep at it.
Think how the U.S reacted after 9.11, they invaded Afghanistan. We can't just stay by while buses get exploded in Tel-aviv, we can't leave it be when they send rokets to Ashdod and Ashkelon.

First get them to stop giving us the excuse, and then try to make us look bad.
Just think why the blockade is there in the first place, because it wasn't always like that.

I really think you are missing the point here , In reality , you people should not be in this new imperialistic colony you call " Israel " . I know you had all these years of persecution and the whole blah blah blah promised land crap but so did my ancestors who were romany gypsy's who have also suffered persecution for years , including the halocaust but you don't see them staking a claim to some historic land . The word historic is the subjective word here . It's all history and thats where it should be left . Okay the halocaust is recent enough history but you don't here the gypsy's banging on about it .

We Irish have suffered at the hands of the imperialistic british and millions of us migrated to the US and many more died from starvation in the 1840's , all due to the hand of our so called rulers . We don't go on about that anymore , it's history . In fact we celebrate it as it opened so many doors and new relations between Ireland and several other countries due to our emmigrant brothers and sisters .

What you people are doing to the Palestinian people today is a form of torture . Left without basics like water , medicine , building materials even writing paper , is a form of abuse , human rights abuse . Again I feel I have to restrain my comments as I know they would be found to be too offensive to some bloggers , so I shall cut myself short now !

Believe me, the only cause for my obsession with Israel is the fact that I hate bullies and I hate arrogance... and the image, if ever you needed one, of arrogance is brought out perfectly in Israel. The Palestinians are helpless against a powerful nuclear armed nation who just so happens to be funded and armed further by the most powerful nations on earth including the biggest of them all (and then you moan of Palestinians smuggling weapons, what hypocrisy!!).

Ney, I'd rather support the underdog, the oppressed: those who have nothing but refuse to give up.

So, I reckon I'm fully justified in my "obsession". Yours, on the other hand, is one of mere jingoism, a common obsession, but one much less dignified.

As for "one of the worst kind of brutality and torture of modern times." I certainly put it right up there with the most cruel things I've had the misfortune of living through in my life time: We're talking of wanton destruction of a whole nation, it's infrastructure, and all that is supposed to be off limits according to International law...

...and how often have they been recorded on film deliberately destroying a family's whole crop with their bulldozers? How is that fighting terrorism or helping their cause? It's nothing but provocation and actions that stem from an inhumane kind of hate and racism.

But the worst thing, the most sickening, is the deliberate execution of aid workers such as the Red Cross truck driver in last years massacre of Gaza... and the murder of an entire family, barring the little babies whom they cruely decided to leave amidst the dead bodies and the rubble... but to add insult to injury, the sick (I so badly wanna swear here) Israeli soldiers cross off all access to the area so that the rescuers have to carry them out on a donkey's cart.... then they desecrate the dead yet further by running over their bodies, including little babies...

Man, they even violate their own notoriously pathetic standards before they can lower them! Previous to the Gaza massacre, I wouldn't have thought it possible, but what do ya know!

Of course you are, and if that's an "obsession", than count me in:) I couldn't care less about what Israel would do if they wouldn't steal Palestinian land and water and maintain a brutal and vicious occupation of the Palestinian people, but unfortunately they do and anyone with a heart and a minimal sense of human decency cannot just stand by and pretend it's ok.
