People that wish the conflict to end, do you believe that music and community collective efforts can bring peace to the Middle East?

Hey guys, there will be a screening of an award winning documentary called Knowledge is the Beginning (2005) by Paul Smaczny. The documentary shows how amusic ensemble, West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, brought together young Arabs and Jews to perform and live side by side. It is a film about what music can do; the way it can transcend cultural barriers, defeat prejudice and overcome religious and political differences.

Afterwards, we will engage together to question the issue of culture and conflict resolution, community participation in dealing with long term conflicts and the
pursuit of peace.
